School Council

The Churchstanton School Council takes parts in lots of activities, including:

    • listening to the views and concerns of other pupils
    • representing these concerns to teachers and other adults
    • coming up with ideas to help improve the school and make decisions
    • encourage people to come to the school through improvements

Being a school councillor is a very responsible position as you have to have a lot of sensible ideas and sometimes have to do things in your free time!

Responsibilities of School Council members include:

  • have a role of responsibility
  • discussing issues:
    – of right and wrong
    – fundraising
    – ideas for charity days and campaigns
  • to set a good example around the school – be good role models
  • be an active part of the school community
  • pass on ideas, problems and possible solutions to staff and to fellow pupils
  • to help organise
